NARAYAN NAIR :
Narayan's the guy who proved that it was possible for me to pull off an "all nighter" and still not have a hangover the next day. Man, he's an insomniac. He actually managed to juggle both his IIT and and HSC portions, before (I think) he finally gave up on IIT preparations sometime in December 1997. Big regret that he didnt write TNPCEE to try and get into Anna.......we both desperately wanted to get into REC Surathkal.....coz we had heard that it has a beach on campus....finally I got into Anna and he took up Mechanical at Sardar Patel in Andheri, where he and Manku Tripathi get along like a house on fire. Narayan is a proud Mallu and tho' he cracks joke about "kolayje"(college) and "demble" (temple) and "nolayje"(knowledge) and "oto" (auto); he still loves them mallu women, whatever I may say to change his mind.
He's a damn adventurous chap, and he has the privilege of being the first chap to have made me explore my hometown Thrissur in Jan 1999. He drove down from his house at Vaniyamkulam (near Shoranur) and we spent a whole day almost doing timepass all over town. I'm trying to make him convince Manku into coming down south with him for a holiday.
He's a music freak like me, except for the fact that he listens to heavier stuff than I do - Metallica, Black sabbath, and the like. He has a collection of over 400 CD's. Am I jealous of the chap.......

ANISH NAIR:
No, Anish is not related to Narayan in any way! Anish was in Elecs, but like Dr.O (one of my profs here at Anna Univ) says, "Otha Malayali-kaaran, Malayali-kaaran kitte thaan seyrum". Translated..it reads : A Malayali will mix only with another Malayali.....All u pals from Anna will know the significance of the O-word........
Anish is a great computer wiz, and even has his own dot-com website. probably the only classmate with his own dot com name. He also plays amazing stuff on the guitar.
CHETAN (Chootan)
Chetan's the funniest guy in the gang.....He can crack such amazing one-liners at the drop of a hat. It's strange, coming from a Surd that too......(lol). Chetan was the guy who gave me the idea of irritating NB.......man those were cool days.
Chetan's doing ETRX at Vivekanand in Chembur....I wonder if he still has that "no holds barred" attitude he had in KC...I still remember the Bawi from the next class.......He was the guy who coined the term "apples" to describe Gulzar (was that the name????).
The most unforgettable quote (on being told that a certain friend was the sort of guy who would always keep his "cards to himself" ie. be very secretive about his plans): "yeah right, he used to hide them in his undies".
Chetan was always a chick magnet........permanent magnet???? :-)
ABBAS (Bassman)
Bassman was the nickname given by Ashher Siddiqui during the Sinhals days. Abbas is a fun-loving chap....He's doing Comps at RAIT In New Bombay.U wont believe this, but there's a girl in 1st year here at Anna who looks exactly like Abbas in drag........What else can I call her but........"Basswoman"!!!!!!!!!

Rachit and I were classmates in KG, and then re-united for another 2 yr stint in KC!!!! Rachit's doing BCA in Pune.

U wont believe that this guy is a Rajput......such a mild-mannered chap. Ravindra and I were pals during our 10th at Sinhals. He's doing his undergrad at UCLA.....way to go, Rocky...

George (Prof): Aniket, why didnt u submit the assignment?
Aniket: Sir, I was unable to submit it because my brother had died.
George: Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. Please submit it as soon as possible.
Aniket : Don't worry Sir, he wasn't my real brother.
Another hilarious incident took place when Ms.Theogaraj (our English teacher in KC) noticed that Aniket wasn't paying attention in class.......she went up to him and found that he was looking at a couple of sexy pics of Hindi actresses. |
